About BAJE TO THE WORLD (Season 3)

Baje to the World is a production of the Community Development Department in the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Community Empowerment. The programme’s mandate is to develop well rounded entertainers while equipping them with the necessary tools to launch and progress their careers in the entertainment industry in Barbados and beyond.

SEASON 3 – BUILDING ON SUCCESS

Baje to the World continues with Season 3 with the aim of providing opportunities for participation, skills development, volunteering and social, cultural, economic and environmental development. In essence, the programme is structured to build community spirit.

The last season of this talent and developmental programme was a transformative initiative for many and continues to be a resounding success. Last season boasts many successes of participants of the competition. Most notable to date are:

  • Show Winner Tarique O’neal had a successful Crop Over Season performing original material written by Season 2 Show Host and Songwriter Shana Hinds.
  • He also toured with regional act, Fay-Ann Lyons & Bunji Garlin as part of his main prize of the competition.
  • 2nd Place Finalist Shontae Alleyne-Clarke went on to win the 2022 Junior Monarch Competition.
  • Finalist Jalissa Clarke won the 2022, Richard Stoute, over 21 Competition,
  • Finalist Daianna Price was crowned the 46th winner of the annual Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition
  • Competitors Jonathan Jordan, Ramone Badd, Christina Dottin and Diane Jemmott have regular gigs performing on the entertainment circuit across the island.
  • Peter Coxx just launched an album and credits his participation in Baje to the World for the inspiration and know-how behind the 13-track release that features all original material.
